The Libra Full Moon on April 7 illuminates the area of relationships and partnerships, revealing new information and marking “make it or break it” moments in our lives. The Full Moon squares the powerful Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, so this is a time when issues related to justice and fairness can come to the surface while contracts and relationships can be broken, renegotiated or strengthened.

Full Moons always ask us to balance two opposite tendencies, finding a middle ground. While the Aries Sun has us reacting and darting forward as it suits our interests, the Libra Moon needs us to keep our feelings in check, to express them with consideration to others, to find balance and an equal give-and-take in our relationships. The Full Moon squaring Pluto can mean that relationships that don’t allow us to be our authentic selves can reach a point of crisis, while the Moon-Jupiter square warns us to avoid compromising or giving too much in exchange for too little. 

At the same time, we have a close Mars-Uranus square that can give us the courage to break free from situations that have been limiting us. We’re likely to need more freedom than usual, so stay mindful if you react abruptly around this time and try to honor both your and other people’s independence.

If you feel indecisive, overemotional, needing closeness and affection more than usual and at the same time wanting freedom or being afraid to get hurt… this is perfectly normal right now. With Aries, Libra and Capricorn in the mix, we can look for a solution to the fourth cardinal sign: Cancer, our emotional and nurturing side. Reach out for those people you love and trust, create a safe den, make your bedroom the coziest place possible and be kind to yourself by feeling all your feelings. It helps to remember that we are not alone during these crazy times.

The Full Moon takes place on the 19th degree of Libra, a degree with the symbol “A gang of robbers in hiding”. The symbol speaks about a desire to group (Libra) and to protest against social privilege (Capricorn, the sign of hierarchy and social structures). In a way, this is what’s happening right now as our economy is going through a massive restructuring. On a social, but also on a personal level, the Libra Full Moon prompts us to leave injustice and disharmony behind and to find more authentic ways of relating to others.
