Word Of The Week – Candle Preparation

Candle magic is one of our favorite types of magic for manifesting. We simply love all the rituals that involve candles. However, did you know that before you do any kind of candle magic ritual, you must first prepare your candles? It’s true! If you start off your candle magic ritual wit low-frequency vibes lurking around, then what’s the point? Here are three ways to help you properly prepare your candles for your candle magic ritual:

1. Cleansing

Along the way, even the candles sent with the purest intentions can pick up influences of low-frequency vibes. So, the best way to prepare your candle is to start off with a clean slate and cleanse it of any such influences. After all, you don’t want any energy that is not in alignment with your intention lurking near your candle. The most common and effective way to do this is by using sage. However, there are many ways to cleanse your candles such as:

• Leaving your candle overnight directly over moonlight to be cleansed

• Burying the candle in sea salt and leaving it for at least 24h. (Make sure you throw away the sea salt immediately after the cleansing process)

• Rubbing it with alcohol from the bottom to the top.

2. Dressing

The dressing is a process where you can use some essential oils to cover your candle. When setting and imprinting your intention in the candle, it’s important to choose the right essential oil to help you convey your intentions and imprint them. To make sure you enhance the intention. Furthermore, the direction of rubbing the oil is also very important:

• If you are attracting something new into your life, then rub the oil from the top to the bottom.

• If you are trying to attract some positive energy in your life, then you should dress your candle from the middle to the bottom.

• If you are trying to get rid of blocks, then you should rub the essential oil from the middle to the top.

  Another important part while dressing your candle is to be focused on your intention, and visualize it vividly to make sure you convey the right vibes and emotions towards it.

3. Carving

If you like to fortify your intentions or attract specific energy to your home then candle carving is the best way to do so. When you carve symbols into the candles, combined with the properties of the candle itself, they become a powerful tool through which your intentions will be emitted to the Universe whenever you burn your candle or you will create powerful pulling energy – attracting whichever type of energy you were trying to attract.

The most common symbols for candle carving are usually runes, or more simple universal symbols such as a heart for attracting love, peace sign for peaceful energy and so on. It’s all up to you and in accordance with the intention that you want to set in the candle.
