Word Of The Week – Self-Esteem
•Posted on September 01 2020
To love yourself right now, just as you are, is to give yourself heaven. Don’t wait until you die. If you wait, you die now. If you love, you live now.
Alan Cohen
Have you always wondered what the hell self-esteem is? Many people confuse it with self-confidence, and while they are similar, they are worlds apart. Self-esteem is well, your personal evaluation, while self-confidence is the faith in your abilities.
In a way, self-confidence is based on faith, while self-esteem is based on your personal subjective experience and understanding of yourself. Your self-esteem is a cornerstone for self-love, and self-acceptance, which in turn is the place where your magic stirs from.
What Is Self-Esteem And Why Is It So Important?
Self-esteem, much like the word itself says is how you esteem yourself. Are you worthy of your respect and love or not? In our society is very normal, and almost natural to view yourself in a bad light and to judge yourself too harshly.
Many people adapted these thought patterns where all they see is their negative sides. This is a horrible way to see yourself! Sure, we all have some quirks and we all make mistakes, but you are so much more than that gorgeous.
Healthy self-esteem means that you are present, conscious, aware, and completely objective.
You acknowledge your positive sides and your negative sides, and you accept them completely. Only through that beautiful process of self-evaluation can you understand where you are holding yourself back on manifesting your own damn magic, and where you are doing well.
