Whether it is some tea or a dried up spice we all have some herbs laying around the house that we don’t use. There have been many times in my life that I had a problem and I bought really expensive medications and nothing really helped. And then I talk to my grandmother or mother and they tell me that I didn’t need to spend all those money and I literally put myself to hell with many harmful medications when I could’ve healed myself more naturally, with the very same herbs that I have laying around at my house. Here are some tips on how to use some of those herbs:

1. Chamomile tea

Did you know that this herb has been used thousands of years for setting stomachache and calming the nerves? It also helps in calming eye inflammation. (Or if something nasty gets in your eye, it’s great for washing it out)

2. Aloe Vera

Now this baby is awesome when it comes to soothing burns and skin problems. But what you may not have heard is that you can eat this plant also because it helps with digestion, circulation and weight loss. Awesome, right?

3. Peppermint

If you have always been afraid of spiders, no need to be and you don’t have to kill every spider so you can sleep. Just put peppermint branches around the house and it will keep the critters away.

4. Sage

This little aromatic herb was once thought to be the “cure it all” herb. It is great for seasoning meats, sauces, and vegetables. But it’s also useful for inflammations, relieving cuts and it helps with memory issues.

5. Lavender

Not only that it smells awesome, it can also be used as an aromatherapy oil for relaxation. Besides that, it’s great for seasoning meals and for baking. Did I also mention that mosquitoes hate this herb?

6. Basil

Not only that it can be used for cooking and has a great aroma basil is also anti-arthritic, anti-inflammatory, and insect repellent.  When eaten, Basil provides healthy doses of vitamins A, K, and C, as well as magnesium, iron, potassium, and calcium.

7. Parsley

It’s great for adding to your everyday meals and soups but it’s also great as a natural antibacterial remedy. Also, it’s awesome for bolstering your immune system and neutralizing bad breath.

8. Ginger

This herb is basic in Chinese herbal medicine and oh my, it has so many uses. From nausea, heartburn to migraine headaches and nasty menstrual pains. It’s also great for your immune system if you consume it with honey and lemon!

9. Thyme

Well, Thyme is great for using to flavor eggs, beans and vegetable dishes. Besides that, it’s loaded with vitamin A which is great for your skin, hair, and nails. Sipping Thyme is a great way to fight nasty colds since it’s also anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibiotic.

10. Rosemary
