Astro Alert: Full Moon In Scorpio Incoming!
•Posted on May 05 2020
This month’s Scorpio Full Moon marks the peak of a lunar cycle that started with April’s Taurus New Moon. The sensual energy of Scorpio and Taurus speaks (or rather whispers) about our bodies, our attachments, our desires, our resources (personal and shared), and our relationships. What is coming to the surface in these areas for you?
Scorpio Full Moons ask us to balance between staying rooted in our bodies and enjoying the simple things in life (the Taurus Sun) and connecting to what is hidden, mysterious and complex (the Scorpio Moon). We can get to our emotions via the body, working with somatic healing techniques or exploring our desires alone or with our partners.
Scorpio is all about peeling the layers of apparent simplicity to get to the heart of a problem, often through intense experiences that make us realize we’re incredibly (and sometimes painfully) alive. Notice what this Full Moon brings up for you and how you can use the experience to uncover deeper layers of yourself.
The Sun conjuncts Mercury and trines transformative Pluto, making it a great time for journaling, psychotherapy or shadow work. With this harmonious aspect, the cosmic landscape supports us to cleanse the attachments, the resentments, the wounds that keep us in stagnation, without getting too stuck in complicated emotions. It could be a good idea to write down what you want to release and to burn the paper.
Mars in Aquarius squaring this Full Moon might prompt us to take this kind of sudden, groundbreaking action in order to free ourselves from what’s been weighing us down, whether it’s an emotion, an addiction or a relationship.
At the same time, it could make some of us more reactive, abrupt or argumentative than usual. Scorpio energy combined with Aquarius can be quite a secretive, edgy mix, so set your boundaries and give other people the space they need as well. If arguments arise, try to stay mindful and compassionate. You can think of anger as a guardian for more vulnerable states such as sadness or fear.
Two softer aspects with Neptune and Jupiter nurture an atmosphere of healing and faith during this Full Moon. Even if dealing with our wounds, fears, and desires isn’t easy, darkness holds the promise of healing.
At the same time, Neptune and Jupiter could tempt us to sweep problems under the rug, hoping that they’ll solve themselves; this will not happen on a Scorpio Full Moon. Our best strategy for these days is to be brave and to dare to feel our emotions fully. This holds true especially for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, the signs that are most impacted by the Full Moon.
