Welcome back, magic maker 🌑💨

The Gemini New Moon arrives on June 14th with something the sky hasn't offered us in a long time.

Silence.

After two weeks of intensity -- minds spinning, information overload, the relentless Gemini chatter of the world -- this moon came in with zero aspects and an immediate void of course. No planetary conversations. No pushes or pulls. Just a complete and total stillness at the exact moment of new beginnings.

This one didn't ask you to hustle toward your intentions. It asked you to pause long enough to feel them first.

A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon meet in the same part of the sky -- a moment of reset, of darkness before the light returns, of planting before the bloom. This is not a time for releasing. It is a time for beginning. For deciding what you want to grow.

In Gemini -- the sign of the mind, communication, curiosity, and duality -- that beginning usually comes with a lot of talking, thinking, and list-making. Gemini wants to process everything out loud.

But this New Moon had a different assignment.

The Sabian Symbol for 25° Gemini is a gardener trimming large palm trees.

Before the planting comes the tending. Before the new beginning comes the clearing. The gardener isn't harvesting yet. Isn't planting yet. They are preparing the ground -- trimming what's overgrown, making space for what wants to grow next.

The question this moon asked: what if the most powerful thing you could do right now is put the pen down and get still?

🪐 The Astrology Deep Dive

What makes this New Moon genuinely extraordinary is not what's there. It's what isn't.

Zero aspects. Not one major planetary conversation at the moment this New Moon perfected. No conjunctions pulling the energy in a direction. No squares creating tension to work through. No trines offering easy support. Just the Sun and Moon meeting in pure, unfiltered Gemini energy -- completely on their own.

And then immediately -- a void of course.

The Moon goes void of course after it makes its last major aspect to any planet before changing signs. During this window, the Moon is between worlds. Not fully in one sign. Not yet in the next. Traditional astrology says nothing will come of actions taken under a VOC moon -- meaning things don't develop the way we expect. Modern astrologers reframe it this way: VOC moons are made for rest, reflection, and completion. Not for launching, deciding, or forcing outcomes.

This particular VOC began the moment the New Moon perfected and lasted until 8:13am on June 15th -- when the Moon moved into Cancer.

That transition is the heart of this workshop.

Gemini is air. Mental, communicative, endlessly processing. Cancer is water. Emotional, intuitive, nurturing, and deeply feeling. The void of course became the bridge between thinking about your life and feeling your way into it.

For most of us, the last two weeks had been a lot of Gemini. A lot of information, spinning thoughts, mental overload. This moon wasn't asking for more thinking. It was asking us to cross the bridge.

⚡ Astro Alert: The Void of Course New Moon

We spent real time tonight understanding what a void of course moon actually means -- because this one deserved a proper introduction.

The VOC begins when the Moon makes its final major aspect before leaving a sign. From that moment until it enters the next sign, the Moon is in a liminal space. Unattached. Between stories. In the traditional view, this is a time when things don't take root in expected ways. In the modern view, it is a sacred pause -- a window specifically designed for dreaming, meditating, journaling, and releasing the need to control outcomes.

What this VOC asked of us tonight was a softer kind of intention-setting. Not: I will achieve X by Y date. But: I am open to becoming someone who...

Not a grip. A loosening. Not a plan. A trust.

The gardener prepares the ground, then steps back. That is the whole teaching.

🌑 The Moon Through the Houses

This New Moon at 25° Gemini activated a different house for everyone -- and the house it landed in shows you where the universe was asking for your sacred pause.

For those with it in the 1st house -- a pause around identity, the body, and how you're showing up. For those in the 3rd, Gemini's natural home -- communication, learning, and local community asking for a reset. For others in the 7th -- partnerships and relationships entering a quieter chapter. For those in the 10th -- career and public life asking you to stop pushing and start listening.

Whatever house this moon lit up for you -- that is where your garden needs tending before the next planting.

For our online Magic Makers, each person received a personal card pull at the opening -- drawn just for them as they settled into the energy of the night. We closed with a collective card for the whole room, a final companion to carry through this lunar cycle.

For our in-person Magic Makers, an oracle card waited face-down at each seat. And tucked under every worksheet, a hidden spirit animal -- holding space all evening, waiting to be revealed at exactly the right moment.

The cards always know something.

🌊 A Closing Reflection

Gemini always wants more information. One more tab open. One more conversation. One more list.

But the void of course moon said: not tonight.

Tonight the invitation was to stop thinking and start feeling. To cross the bridge from mind to heart. To prepare the ground instead of forcing the planting.

You showed up on a New Moon with zero aspects and an empty sky and you sat in the stillness anyway. You let yourself be quiet. You wrote from your heart instead of your head. You planted your intention loosely and trusted the gardener in you.

That takes courage. Especially for a Gemini moon.

The pause is not empty. The pause is where you remember who you are.

Go gently this week. Let the Moon settle into Cancer and carry your intention into feeling. Draw the bath. Light the blue candle. Hold your selenite and breathe. Let yourself be still a little longer than feels comfortable.

Because the ground is ready. And what you planted in the sacred pause is already beginning to grow.
