Have you ever played a song so good, that you felt shivers down your spine? That’s because your dopamine levels are spiking in your body. It’s amazing, isn’t it? That music by itself can be the cause of change in your body. The truth is, music, and sounds, in general, can have a great impact on your body, mind and spirit and the goosebumps you have experienced are just a little part of it. From Ancient Greece, comes a belief that sounds have healing power. And in the last few years, sound healing has become very popular, because many people began to experience its benefits. So, what exactly is sound healing?

What is sound healing?

Sound healing is an ancient practice that uses sounds to heal the mind, body, and spirit – restoring balance in all three aspects of yourself. So, how exactly does it work? Different sounds have been known to affect the brainwaves your brain produces. By affecting your mind with sound waves, you can change the way your mind works, and control the brainwaves you emit – your frequency, your vibration.

This is important, because everything that has been conceived in the brain, sooner or later becomes a reality. The simplest example is to look at your phone. Fifty years ago, explaining the very idea of a smartphone would have certainly seemed like a ludicrous idea to whoever was listening to it. But, someone thought of it, had the idea, and from then on, created it in reality.

The same concept can be applied to all aspects of your life. When you have sad, discomforting thoughts – they transform into feelings of grief, depression, and anxiety. You don’t have depressing thoughts because you are depressed, you are depressed because you have depressing thoughts. And sound healing can help you to control your thoughts more easily, and change your own reality. It can help you process your feelings more easily, and by doing so it can help you to break off from your negative patterns.
