Reflections on Embracing Change & the Power of Surrender
Magic Maker, let’s be real—surrendering to the unknown is hard. Trusting that change, even the difficult, gut-wrenching kind, is actually working in your favor? Nearly impossible some days. If you’re anything like me, you probably like to have a plan. You want to know where things are going, when they’re happening, and preferably have a roadmap from the universe with all the details laid out. But the thing is, life doesn’t always work like that.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the dance between moving in flow versus pushing forward—when to take action and when to sit back and trust. It’s been a real struggle, trying to navigate the balance between hard work, divine timing, and sheer luck. It can feel like every decision is make-or-break, like there’s so much pressure to get things right that it becomes overwhelming.
I want to step more into trust, surrender, and openness—to be okay with not knowing how everything will unfold. And I imagine a lot of you feel the same. Especially if you’re deeply spiritual and putting in the work—showing up, staying positive, following your passion, doing all the things—and yet, challenges just keep coming. It makes you question everything: your dreams, your purpose, even your own ability to manifest the life you want.
But here’s something I’ve been reflecting on: maybe it’s okay to sit in uncertainty for a while. Maybe we don’t have to force our way through discomfort or rush to fix things immediately. Maybe the best thing we can do is witness our thoughts and emotions like a kind observer—without judgment, without needing to change anything, just noticing.
I keep coming back to this idea: the tide always changes. Even when you feel stuck, even when you don’t see the way forward, even when every door seems closed—things shift. Maybe not on our preferred timeline, but they always do. A new opportunity appears, the right person walks into your life, or suddenly, something just clicks.
I feel this deeply right now in my business. I’ve been pulling cards non-stop, and the message is clear: let go of the old. But that’s easier said than done, right? Because sometimes you don’t even know what needs to go. And maybe the only way to figure it out is to give it time and space—to allow things to unfold naturally instead of forcing clarity before it’s ready to appear.
The Layered Work of Transformation
We hear it all the time: change your internal world, and your external world will follow. And for the most part, I believe that. But what happens when you do the work, shift your mindset, and things still don’t move the way you expect? Does that mean you did it wrong? That you’re not trying hard enough? That you missed some crucial step in the manifestation process?
I don’t think so. I think transformation happens in layers. Just when you think you’ve cleared something, another layer emerges—not because you failed, but because you’re going deeper. And yeah, that can feel frustrating as hell. You think you’re making progress, and suddenly, you’re hit with another wave of lessons, setbacks, or emotional processing. But maybe that’s exactly what needs to happen.
I keep coming back to the slingshot metaphor—sometimes you have to be pulled way back before you can launch forward. Sometimes, what feels like regression is actually preparation for a bigger leap than you could have imagined.
How I’m Learning to Surrender
For me, surrender isn’t passive—it’s an active practice. It’s about trusting that I’m doing enough, even when I feel like I’m not. It’s about recognizing that I can’t do everything alone (hello, manifesting generator energy). It’s about allowing myself to ask for help, to accept rejection without taking it personally, to let go of control and trust that what’s meant for me will find me.
In business, that means making hard decisions—figuring out what’s working and what’s not, prioritizing my energy, and not overworking myself to the point of burnout. In love… well, let’s just say the universe will have to send my person to the store multiple times for me to notice. :)
At the end of the day, I don’t have all the answers. I’m still working through this, still learning how to hold space for uncertainty without letting it consume me. But I know this much: I’m exactly where I need to be right now. And so are you.
So if you’re in a season of waiting, of questioning, of trying to make sense of the unknown—give yourself grace. Allow yourself to sit with it, to process it, to be with it. Because at some point, the tide will change. And when it does, you’ll be ready.
How Do You Navigate Surrender?
Magic Maker, I’d love to hear from you—how do you handle change and uncertainty? What helps you lean into surrender instead of resisting it? Drop your thoughts in the comments, and let’s support each other on this journey.
