One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.

Abraham Maslow

One of the most important things for creating your own magic is to work on your personal growth. However, personal growth is a term that you are probably hearing on every corner today. So in that case, how do you know what to believe, what is personal growth really, and how does it help in creating your own magic?

Okay, so think of it like this - up till now, you were doing okay at life, however, are you truly happy and satisfied? Are you living a fulfilling life? If the answer is no, then chances are that you have been doing the same old things over and over, thinking the same old way, creating the patterns that close you off in the life you are currently living. So, it’s obvious that for your life to become better, you have to change something, right? But, what exactly does making a change constitutes? Are you to wake up today, make the decision that you are going to be a completely different person, and change everything about yourself? Of course not silly! How can you be happy if you are not yourself, after all?

That’s where personal growth comes in – because in a way it’s the process in which you identify which parts of you no longer serve you, and stopping to feed them, and on the other hand identify which parts of you serve you, and taking extra care of them, nurture them and grow them. You see, personal growth is not about changing yourself completely, on the contrary, it’s about knowing yourself better.

And through that process of self-exploration, you will discover how to heal what needs healing, work on what needs working and learning how to stop giving power to the self-created patterns that only do you harm. Creating your own damn magic is all about sparking up the magical flames within you, but first, you have to find them. And personal growth is the process of creating a roadmap to finding them!
