Mishar Briones is a Canadian who’s relocated in Paris who feeds her soul with writing and traveling. Having travelled and lived all over the world, Mishar is a cultured, open-minded woman who likes to write about her reflections and ruminations on her different experiences and the people she has encountered along the way, along with the impressions those people have made on her thoughts. The writer puts her posts on her Tumblr, Foreign Landing. While living in Paris, Mishar feeds her soul with….gratitude for the universe (yes), Reiki, and cookies that feed the soul too!

Are there any consistent activities or rituals you do to maintain a sense of inner peace? Reiki, gratitude journaling, affirmations and mirror work.

When you are in an emotional rut, what are your go to ways to bring yourself out of that feeling? Having a cry then running through affirmations, singing and dancing, finding gratitude in the moment, breathing exercises.

Before beginning a creative process, what type of preparation do you normally undertake? I like to clear and clean my space beforehand and have music at the ready.

Describe a time you underwent a particularly stressful situation and what measures you took to move through that process. I'm currently living paycheck to paycheck, which can be very stressful when unexpected payments need to be made. I find focusing on what I have as well as staying present, seeing the good in everything helps to keep myself from stressing out. Plus, breathing!

Do you have any favorite movies that always revive your spirit? Clueless, anything from the Agatha Christie series' (Poirot and Miss Marple), The Princess Bride - all feel goods!

Is there a particular genre of music that brings you calm? No, it really depends on my mood.

What is the most inspiring book you have ever read? The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho. Although if I was to pick something recent, I would pick Yes, Please by Amy Poehler.

Are there any particular exercise routines or practices that you use for grounding? If so, describe how you discovered them. Breathing exercises - I learned pranayama from my mom. Reiki - my mom did that when I was growing up and I took a couple of courses to learn. Tapping/EFT - I picked this up online through one of the various newsletters I signed up for at one time or another.

Do you meditate? If so, how did you learn and what methods do you use often? I do, though not as often as I should. I learned through my mom but also blogs and by doing my own kind of thing. I don't believe there's a "right" way or "wrong" way to meditate.

What’s your favorite motivational YouTube or Netflix video? I find Marie Forleo is great for finding inspiration and motivation.
