New Moon in Taurus Workshop Recap

Tend Your Own Flame • New Moon in Taurus
Welcome back, magic maker 🌑🌿
The Taurus New Moon arrived on May 15th with something we haven't felt in a while.
Gentleness.
After weeks of intensity in the sky, this moon came in soft and grounded and full of genuine support. Three major aspects. A beautiful Sabian Symbol. And an invitation that goes deeper than writing intentions on a piece of paper.
This one asked you to pour into yourself first. Not as a reward. As a foundation.
✨ About This New Moon
New Moon in Taurus 🗓 May 15, 2025 🌑 Moon at 25°57' Taurus | ☀️ Sun in Taurus 💫 Conjunct Mercury at 28° Taurus, conjunct Uranus at 1° Gemini, sextile Jupiter at 21° Cancer
A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon meet in the same part of the sky — a moment of reset, of darkness before the light returns, of planting before the bloom. This is not a time for releasing. It is a time for beginning. For deciding what you want to grow.
In Taurus — the sign of the body, pleasure, sensuality, and what makes you feel safe and grounded — that beginning is never rushed. Taurus doesn't plant in a hurry. It prepares the soil first.
The Sabian Symbol for 26° Taurus is a Spaniard serenading his señorita.
The degree just before it — 25° Taurus — is a large, well-kept public park. Collective enjoyment. Shared space.
And then we move into something personal. Intimate. Creative. Someone standing outside a window, pouring their desire and creativity into a serenade for someone they want. It's not practical. It's not efficient. It is pure creative self-expression in service of something that matters to the heart.
The question this moon asked: what if the person you're serenading is yourself?
🪐 The Astrology Deep Dive
Three major aspects shaped the energy of this New Moon — and together, they made it one of the most supported lunations of the year.
Moon conjunct Mercury at 28° Taurus Mercury in Taurus thinks slowly and speaks with intention. It means what it says. This conjunction placed the mind and the body in full agreement — your words have weight right now, and your intentions land differently when you speak them out loud. Ideas born under this moon are grounded and real. Not just dreams. Write them down. Say them out loud. The body is listening.
Moon conjunct Uranus at 1° Gemini Uranus just crossed into Gemini — a brand new chapter for all of us — and at 1°, it is barely through the door. This conjunction brought a spark of the unexpected into the New Moon energy. A sudden clarity. A new way of seeing yourself or your path. The seed you planted tonight may grow in a direction you didn't predict. That's not a warning. That's the magic.
Moon sextile Jupiter at 21° Cancer Jupiter in Cancer is warm, generous, and deeply nourishing. A sextile is an easy, flowing aspect — a gift, not a challenge. This one said: the universe is rooting for this. What you tend now has the potential to grow beyond what you expect. But the path is nourishment, not force. Receiving, not pushing. Let yourself be held by the optimism that was available tonight.
⚡ Astro Alert: Vesta Enters Aries
We took time tonight to meet Vesta properly — because she arrived just days before this New Moon and her timing is not an accident.
Vesta is one of the four major asteroids in astrology. In Roman mythology, she was the goddess of the sacred flame — the keeper of the hearth. The Vestal Virgins were her priestesses, chosen as young girls to tend the eternal flame of Rome for 30 years. Their devotion was total. The city's wellbeing was considered literally tied to their faithfulness.
Vesta doesn't have dramatic myths. No love affairs. No wars. She just tends. She is pure, focused, sacred devotion — the kind that doesn't need an audience.
In your chart, she shows where that devotion lives. What you return to again and again because it matters at a soul level.
She entered Aries on May 13th and won't leave until February 16th, 2027. Nine months. The longest stay since 2015.
Aries is the sign of self, independence, courage, and personal mission. With Vesta in Aries, the sacred flame is turning inward. The question she's asking for the next nine months: what are you devoted to when it comes to yourself? Your own becoming. Your own desires. Your own path.
We'll be returning to Vesta throughout her stay. She has a lot to teach us.
🌱 The Root and the Sacral
The teaching at the heart of tonight's workshop was this:
Taurus rules the body. The physical world. What makes you feel safe and grounded.
In the chakra system, this maps to two energy centers. The root chakra at the base of the spine — safety, security, belonging, your foundation. And the sacral chakra just above it — pleasure, creativity, desire, your wellspring.
Here is the key: if your root chakra is depleted, if you don't feel safe or grounded, the sacral chakra doesn't have enough energy to do what it's meant to do. You cannot create freely from a place of fear.
So before the intentions. Before the candles. Before the serenade.
Ground yourself first. Do something that makes you feel genuinely taken care of. Make yourself a beautiful dinner. Draw a long bath. Pour into yourself. Not as a reward. As a foundation.
Then from that grounded, nourished place — make something. Express something. Let yourself want something and move toward it unashamed, fully present, in service of your own desire.
That is the best place to plant from.
🌑 The Moon Through the Houses
This New Moon at 26° Taurus activated a different house for everyone — and the house it landed in tells you where the serenade is meant to be sung.
For those with it in the 2nd house, Taurus's home — a new cycle of worth, resources, and your relationship with your own value. For others in the 5th, creativity and joy calling for genuine attention. For others in the 7th or 1st, the self or partnerships beginning a quieter, deeper chapter.
Whatever house this moon lit up for you — that is where you are being asked to tend your own flame.
🃏 The Cards
For our online Magic Makers, each person received a personal oracle pull at the opening — a card drawn just for them. We closed with a spirit animal for the whole room, a final companion to carry through this lunar cycle.
For our in-person Magic Makers, an oracle card waited face-down at each seat. And tucked under every worksheet, a hidden spirit animal — holding space all evening, waiting to be revealed at exactly the right moment.
The cards always know something.

🌊 A Closing Reflection
Taurus always asks you to come back to the body. And the body's wisdom tonight was this:
You have been waiting until you feel worthy enough to pour into yourself.
You don't have to wait.
You showed up on a New Moon in Taurus and you let yourself be nourished. You checked in with your root, your sacral, your creative wellspring. You met Vesta and remembered that devotion to yourself is not selfishness. It is sacred tending.
The serenade was always for you.
Now go home. Draw the bath. Light the candle in the color that brings you the most joy. Place your crystals on your chakras in the morning and breathe for five minutes. Let yourself be held by your own devotion.
Because you tend your own flame — and from that place, everything you touch catches light.
With love, Shereen & the My Little Magic Shop Team
