Step 1 – The Importance of Now

A busy day has become every day of our lives. It’s just the way of life in our society. There is always a ton of things to do, and the impossible lists pile up every day more and more. Just stop, and think about the following question – how many times have you found yourself thinking you finally can have a moment to yourself when stress and anxiety hit you like a brick and you start to remember how much more you have to do? That little millisecond of peace and content washed away by the impossible standards you have set up on yourself. Sounds familiar? If it does, you are in a serious circle on autopilot mode, never living in the now.

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it is called the present.

Why is it important to live in the present moment?

Well, the worst part is constantly living with stress and anxiety. But, what is even worse is that it seems like we are stuck either in the past because we can’t let go, or in the future, because we desperately want to go and build a better life for ourselves. However, the true irony is, when you are stuck in your dream world, you don’t take the time to do the work now that will lead to making your dreams come true.

The past, the future, the could have been’s and could be’s – they are all an illusion in which we get stuck, and constantly circle in the same old place, instead of taking a step forward. This moment, in which you are reading this, is the only reality. There is nothing for you in the past, and there will be nothing for you in the future unless you take charge of your own life now. If you don’t create your own magic now, you will never enjoy its beauty in the future. Now is all there is.

Embrace it, love it, enjoy it, cherish it – because these little moments are all there is. They make up your life, history will make your future and the eternity, long after you are gone. However, this brings up another question:

Is it wrong to dream?

There is only one answer – NO. Dreaming big is the essence of your goals. If you can’t see it in your mind, you will never realize it. However, you need to have balance in life. Think about it like this – ideas are the seeds you plant for leading the fulfilling life you always wanted to lead. But, thought without action is meaningless.

If you plant the seeds but don’t actually nurture them, no matter how much you think about them, your seeds will never bear fruit. In life, it is not enough to imagine, but also to start paving a path that leads you towards your goal. It’s not enough to be on autopilot, because you need to live, at this moment that has been given to you. You need to balance yourself, between reflecting and learning from the past, dreaming of a better tomorrow, and making the best from those both in the now. Anything more than that, will only stuck you in an infinite loop – and that’s not the way to creating your own damn magic!

How to stay in the present moment?

Today we will take the first step towards a better, more balanced and fulfilling life in the now. In today’s step 1 we have a few exercises because, we know that once drifting off into the past or future becomes a habit, it’s very difficult to stay here, in this very moment. That is why today, we will work on preparing you with an exercise for staying in the now and an amazing ritual combined with a meditation which will help you to stay here! Let’s start:

Exercise - Setting a few new habits

The very first thing you should do is prepare yourself better for staying in the present moment. By setting a few new, simple habits – you will make a small, yet very significant change for yourself. For this exercise, you should reflect on the last few days. Take a notebook and a pen. Think about how many times you drifted off into the future or the past. Note at what times, and what you were doing at that time. Ask yourself:

How many times did I worry about the past today?

How many times did I worry about future tasks and meetings today?

How many times I was daydreaming?

A few simple, mini habits that you can start off today are making a to-do list before going to sleep, writing a journal or learning how to delegate.

  • If you find yourself mostly worrying about future tasks, then all you need to do is make a to-do list for the following day before you go to bed. It’s simple, but very effective because you won’t be constantly worrying about forgetting something.

  • If you find yourself troubled by the past and the future, and you sense like you have some unresolved issues, then we suggest you start writing down a journal. Sometimes, when you start writing things down it's easier to reflect and learn, rather than constantly thinking and re-thinking the same thing over and over.

  • If you find that you are swamped with a ton of tasks, it’s time to ditch the “I wanna do everything myself” and learn the art of delegating. Nothing is more important than your health!

Mindfulness Ritual

We absolutely love doing this ritual, because its simply amazing for increasing and improving your focus, as well as experiencing how much power and joy a the present can hold. Here we go:

Step 1 - Cleanse Your Space

The best way to start your magical journey inwards is by starting with a clean slate. By keeping things organized and tidy in your meditation space/altar you are allowing healing energy to flow freely and stimulating harmonizing energy. So get to dusting and prep the physical space you will be using.

Step 2 – Prepare Your Space

Ring the Brass Altar Bell and feel the serene harmonizing energy it creates. Did you know that sounds change brain waves and disperse negative emotions? By ringing this sacred bell, you are not only affecting yourself but your space as well. The sound of a scared bell purifies all its surroundings; a room, a person, an emotion.

Step 3 – Aromatherapy

It aids in enlightening your journey and deepening your meditation. It even comes with an affirmation and inspirational message. Step 4 – Begin The Meditation

Ring your Tibetan Tingshas to begin your meditation. The ringing sound creates an opening in reality and prods into the deepest parts of yourself which makes it perfect to start your meditation with. They are also used in Feng Shui to ring in the four corners of a room in order to bring the energy flow inwards.

Step 5 - Meditation with Mala

We recommend using a 7 Chakra Mala - each Mala bead is a mantra. As you focus on your mantra, touch each bead as you say it with your mind. If you don’t have a specific mantra in mind then use the simplest one – “Om”. This particular sound tunes your frequency with one of the Universes itself and has amazing healing power. Feel free to use an affirmation as a mantra also. We have gathered a few affirmations to help you stay in the present:


I am aware of the beauty of this very moment

I am here, now, because I choose to be

I am grateful for this precious moment

I accept that my life is only here, only now, in this very moment

I am mindful of every moment in my life

Step 6 – Crystal Healing

Meditate with your Clear Quartz Palm Stone. Place it on your thighs and let it fill you with healing energy.

Body Scan Guided Meditation:

1. Sit in a comfortable position. You can sit on your own chair or even lay down. We recommend that you sit so you won’t doze off.

2. Relax your body. Put your hands at ease where they feel comfortable.

3. Breathe in and breathe out. Close your eyes.

4. Pay attention to your feet. How they touch the ground, the heat, the coldness, their weight. Feel the blood pulsing through them.

5. Start bringing your attention higher, to your legs and how they feel. Feel the blood that comes passing through them. Notice every sensation about them.

6. Feel your back and how it is positioned against the chair. Notice how your back and chest moves as you breathe in and breathe out.

7. Bring your attention to your hands and arms. How they feel and how they are positioned on your body.

8. Feel your neck and the muscles on it. Relax them.

9. Bring your attention to your face. What face are you making? Is your jaw shut tight? Relax every muscle.

10. Take a couple of deep breaths. Breathe in and breathe out. Now open your eyes.

Step 7 - Close Your Session

As you are pulling out of your meditative state, ring Tibetan Tingshas to signal your mind and body the turning back into reality. That way, you won’t harshly end your meditative state, but gradually pull out of it.

Step 8 - Offer Your Gratitude

Offer Your Gratitude to the world and Universe for bringing balance into your life. Extinguish your candle and tidy up your space so you won’t disturb the energy flow.
