New Moon In Scorpio

Hello, fellow Magic Makers!

As the Moon is right between the Earth and the Sun, it appears to unite with Sol in our sky. This moment can be a paradox: as the Moon conjuncts the Sun, we could say that a maximum of light and awareness is poured into our conscience, but if we look at the sky, the Moon appears dark and all things are imbued with an unsettling kind of anticipation.

It’s the beginning of a new phase, a fresh creative impulse that can offer bright solutions to the problems of the previous cycle. However, before things are put into motion, the New Moon moment offers a space of stillness, a white page where anything could happen.

What is the New Moon Optimal For?

The New Moon is all about planting new seeds of intention and kicking starting new habits in your life. The keyword for this moon phase is starting. Sometimes starting happens in your mind and other times it means getting out there and starting some new.

It can be difficult for those of us who like to be in charge because New Moons are times of uncertainty when it’s best to reflect and to set our intentions for the future more than to take decisive action. The nature of these intentions is best shown by the sign and the house of the Sun-Moon conjunction.

Marrying personal will with the underlying currents of the Universe shows its results six months later, when a Full Moon shines in the same sign, revealing what has and what hasn’t come to fruition.

The New Moon In Scorpio

Mid-November greets us with a deep dive underground as the Scorpio New Moon marks a new beginning in the areas of sexuality, shared finances, shadow work, deep psychology, and occultism. This Moon’s easy, flowing (yet intense) aspects support us to confront our shadow and to welcome transformation in our lives.

Scorpio is a sign that holds on: to power, to control, to their wounds, and their passions. With Pluto, its ruler, conjunct expansive Jupiter at this time, many of us could feel our desires, as well as our pains amplified. On a large-scale level, we could see an increase in the attempt to control and to manipulate, especially as the Moon’s trine with deceptive Neptune could make the veil difficult to lift.

In the middle of challenging times, this New Moon is an opportunity to let go of blaming others (family, friends, lovers, the government, the system, and so on) and to take back our projections- and, together with them, the power to change what is within our reach.

This will be a challenge especially since Venus, the planet of love and relationships, and Mars, the planet of instinct and sexuality, forms tense aspects with the explosive Jupiter-Pluto conjunction. Relationships can be a playground for themes of control, manipulation, anger, and resentment, but also increased passion.

We’re getting to know ourselves through others at this time, and making the difference between harmful relationships that we need to leave behind and connections that can help us transform through opening up and showing vulnerability.

It’s a time when each of us can reflect on the balance between giving and taking in our relationships, and see where we hold on to our old ways too rigidly… or where we need to set firmer boundaries. Fiery Mars, now direct in Aries, can give us the necessary push to take action.

If we find ourselves caught in hair-trigger reactions or relationship drama, it’s a good idea to turn to our inner child, to our emotions and to our needs at this time, finding what unites rather than what separates us. Cancer is the missing sign in the current cosmic maelstrom, and its gentleness might be an important key in navigating troubled waters. The New Moon’s harmonious aspect with compassionate Neptune also supports us in this direction. Sometimes, a little forgiveness and connection to the heart can help us see beyond the complex, often messy webs of our relationships.

This New Moon can be particularly intense for fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, as well as for cardinal signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn. Aspects between planets scattered across the zodiac can make this cosmic moment a far-reaching, transformative one for many of us.

A Magical Scorpio New Moon Ritual

This Scorpio New Moon is an amazing time to set your intentions for the following month. Because it will be both, gentle and intense in some ways, it’s important to be really specific as to what you will be focusing on and what you want to manifest. This is why we are sharing with you a special magical intention setting meditation, and an intention setting ritual to help you create your own damn magic!

For this ritual, you will need a pen, paper a White Ritual Candle, a bit of Palo Santo, and Selenite Harmonizers.

First off, let’s start everything on a clean slate - let’s cleanse and prepare with the Palo Santo. Sit down, set up all your items in front of you, and take a few deep breaths. Then right your Palo Santo cone, and take three deep breaths. Cover the items in front of you with the smoke of the Palo Santo, and then ask the Universe to cleanse everything that doesn’t belong to you.

Open a window to let the negative vibes go by, and then when you feel ready sit down and start focusing on your intentions.

This Scorpio New Moon is an excellent opportunity to set intentions for one clear goal and to help you tick off some of the goals you set for 2020, right before the year ends! The key is to focus on just ONE goal and devote yourself completely to it this month. Think about it for a while - what is the absolute most important goal you want to devote yourself to this month? Which goal will help you in creating your own damn magic?

Once you set your mind to it, write it down clearly, in one sentence at the top of the piece of paper. Read your goal loudly and clearly, three times. Then below write down the three big steps that you plan on taking to achieve your goal below.

Now, take your candle, and put it on your chest, close your eyes and visualize yourself achieving your goal. Focus yourself completely on your goal. Then say a little prayer to the Universe to help you achieve this goal.

When you feel ready, open your eyes and light your candle. As you allow the candle to burn down, we recommend to do this guided New Moon meditation:

Make sure to let the candle burn down completely so that your intention is sent to the Universe. Do NOT blow out the candle.

Then, add your piece of paper on your vision board, or review it every day to make sure that you are focusing on your goal!
