Step 1 – Magical Goal Setting and Planning

In today's modern age, we have endless possibilities. We have access to so much information, knowledge and wisdom at the palm of our hand. And that is amazing. But as much as it is amazing, it can also be a huge burden. Faced with so many possibilities, we pile up obligations on ourselves and build up our to-do lists.

Running around like crazy, from task to task, mindlessly trying to get by day by day – all the while life goes by, and we turn around and see that even though we have put in an enormous effort, we have achieved very little in life. The thing is, it’s not always on how much effort you put in, but rather putting your effort in the right place and the right time.

This month, we are focusing on Magical Goal Setting and Planning, and we will be helping you out to kick start the fulfilling life you always wanted to lead. This month, we will set everything in motion and awaken your own damn magic. And it all starts today, with Step 1 – Magical Goal Setting and Planning.

By setting goals, and planning life, you can achieve more than you could ever imagine. Of course, not everything goes according to plan in life, but when you have a goal, and you are headed in that direction, as long as you have your mind set to the goal, no matter the obstacles on the road – you will always achieve it.

Because even though you might not have realized it, everything in your life has been created by one single thought, that turned into an idea, and that idea turned into a goal. And when you have a goal to which you have devoted yourself, you take actions that will bring you closer to making that goal into a reality. Just look around.

The chair you sit on, the desk in front of you, the phone you are reading this on – everything was at one point a thought, a silly idea that no one believed it could be a reality. Yet here you are, tapping on your phone, holding immense information at your own palm. Amazing isn’t it? But, it's not enough just to think that that is amazing. You have to realize something - you can do it too! You just need to learn how to create your own magic. And today, we are starting your off into creating your own damn magic by setting the right goals!

How to set reasonable goals?

Okay, so now that you know how important goal setting is, that doesn’t mean that you should set out on a mission to accomplish everything and set a million goals. It doesn’t work that way, believe us. We were the masters of wanting to do everything at once and failing. But, from our many failures, we have learned a lot and we are going to let you in on a secret – it’s not about how many goals you set, as long as they are reasonable. Now, that doesn’t mean that you should limit yourself thinking – “I can’t do this, I can’t do that” – because you can achieve anything that you set your mind on. We were talking about two major mistakes people make when they set unreasonable and impossible standards on themselves:

1. Trying to achieve everything at once

2. Not giving yourself the time you need to achieve your goals

Sure, everyone wants to achieve their goals the minute they set them, but it doesn’t work that way. You have to be willing to put in the work for your goals, work your ass off, get out of your comfort zone, and fail a few times before you can achieve them. The journey is harsh, but it fills you up with wisdom. It sparks the magic inside you. And when your goal is achieved, it’s pure magic and joy.

Here is an exercise on how to set out reasonable goals:

  1. You will need 2 sheets of paper and three markers in different colors.

  2. On the first sheet, take a pen and start writing down everything that you ever wanted to achieve in your life. Don’t be shy, write down even the things that you think you would never be able to do. Write it all down. Write down goals that you think should achieve, but, don’t seem too exciting to you.

  3. Okay, now that you are done with that, take the other sheet of paper and make three columns.

    • Name the first column: "can be done anytime"

    • Name the second column: "can be done in a year"

    • And the third one: "can be done in a few years"

  4. Now, start placing items from your list of goals into the appropriate categories. The important thing is – do not underestimate your goals. Just because you think a goal can take x amount of time, that doesn’t mean that it is true. For goals that you aren’t certain how long it will take you, do the research, dig up a little so that you can be realistic in your goal setting.

  5. Now that you are done with categorizing the goals according to a timeframe, take one of your markers and highlight all goals that seem the most exciting to you, and you are eager to start on. Next, take another marker and highlight all goals that are somewhat interesting. And lastly, take the last colored marker and highlight all goals that don’t bring that much excitement to you.

And you are done! The last thing that you should do is take a really good look on the list, and start reflecting on your goals, their timeframes, your interest in them and get to the bottom on which goals you should focus and when in your life. Remember – you can’t do it all at once! Everything takes time. So be reasonable with yourself, and the time that you have.

Ritual: Intention Setting
(Recommended to be performed on a New Moon)

Besides making the list, we have an awesome Intention Setting Ritual to share with you guys. We absolutely love doing this one, especially on a New Moon! This ritual is amazing when you want to start getting your goals done. Here is how it goes:

  • Before you start the ritual, make sure that you are starting on a clean slate. We like to do little cleansing with Sage Smudge Sticks because sage helps not only in purifying the space but also the air, body, and mind of negative vibes. Light your Sage Smudge Stick, but make sure you have something to put it in, like an Abalone Shell, because Sage can get really hot, really fast and burn you. Breathe in the purifying smoke of sage, and breathe out. Bring the smoke over the items for the ritual, then into every corner of the room in which you will be performing the ritual, in all the other rooms, and in the end, envelop yourself with smoke by using circular motions with your hands. Breathe in and breathe out. Then, open your windows to let out all the pesky negative vibes out, away from you and your home.

  • Once the majority of the smoke is out, lay down in a comfortable position. Calm yourself down. Breathe in breathe out. Relax your body and feel yourself getting calmer and calmer.

  • Place the Black Obsidian Reiki Generator on your chest, and place your Palm Stone Clear Quartz in your hand. Breathe in and breathe out. Feel the energy of the Black Obsidian Reiki Generator, envelop you, protecting you and grounding you, while making the life force within you radiate, stronger than ever. Feel the calmness, and clarity your Clear Quartz is providing you, amplifying the life energy within you. Breathe in and breathe out.

  • Feel how the life energy and the energy of the moon, nourish you and guide your mind. See how the chaos envelops in front of you, and you are left with pure bliss, joy, and calmness.

  • Start focusing on the intentions that you want to set. We recommend you start with one intention, but if you have more than one, that is okay as well. Focus on seeing your dreams, so life-like, as if they are a reality already.

  • Breathe in and breathe out. When you feel ready, open your eyes and place the reiki generator on your altar or holy space, and hold your Clear Quartz in your palm.

  • Place the three Herbal Pillar Candles – Confidence, Manifest a Miracle and Creativity in the following order:

  • Focus on your intentions as you light each candle starting from left, to right. Then place the clear quartz on the front side of the reiki generator, completing the circle of amplifying energy.

  • Breathe in and breathe out. Now take your Turquoise Mala Beads and touch each bead as you repeat the following mantra:

    “I am unfolding the path towards my magic. I will manifest my dreams”

  • When you come to the end of the Mala Beads, say a little prayer of gratitude and conclude your ritual.

  • Whenever you feel like you need a little boost in energy, use your reiki generator or light one of the pillar candles.

  • Whenever you feel like you are stuck, meditate with your Clear Quartz or place it under your pillow before you go to sleep.
