Step 4 – Awakening the Root Chakra

When you are trying to find a way to dream big, but still stay realistic there is only one thing that you lack to make the perfect combination – balance. Just think about it. With all of that running around, all day, every day, stuck on autopilot, one of the most basic things that you lack is balance. Balance is the key in life, and to dream, and work and grow beyond what you ever imagined you could become, you need to restore balance to your life. One of the easiest ways to restore balance to your life is to work on your energy center of balance in your body – your Root Chakra.

Somehow, we'll find it. The balance between whom we wish to be and whom we need to be. But for now, we simply have to be satisfied with who we are.

What is the Root Chakra?

The life energy of your being is flowing through the chakras, and each center is appointed for a different role in your life. There are 7 basic chakras that are set up along your spine, and today we will be focusing on the first chakra - The Root Chakra.

The Root Chakra - Muladhara is the first chakra, located at the end of your spine. The Root Chakra is the center of balance in your life, it is the very energy that keeps you grounded, realistic and is associated with all of your basic needs and instincts. In a way, the energy of the Root Chakra is your survival kit for the world.

Why should I balance my Root Chakra?

If the energy flow to the Root Chakra is disturbed in any way, it can have devastating consequences on your life such as:

- Excessive negativity, cynicism

- Eating disorders

- Greed, avarice

- An excessive feeling of insecurity, living in survival mode constantly

- Terrified of a loss of control

- General mistrust of others

- Being a workaholic

- A dysfunctional relationship with family

As you can see, a lot of things will get out of hand when your Root Chakra is out of balance. However, the most crucial part that will get misbalanced is your perspective of the bigger picture. When stress and anxiety hit you, your Root Chakra can help you to get out of their claws by seeing the truth, by grounding you and holding you tightly on the ground, when everything is pulling you into an endless pit.

How to balance the Root Chakra?

When we feel like our Root Chakra is misbalanced, we don’t like to sit around and wait for it to get better on its own. We like to take matters into our own hands! And we bet you want to do the same. After all, the difference between making your dreams into a reality lies in the balance. Here is our special secret magical ritual for re-balancing the Root Chakra:

Setting the mood is the perfect way to get started with any self-care ritual. Light a stick of Hem Root Chakra Incense and as you breathe in the magical aroma of this incense, feel how the energy of the root chakra is stirring within you, responding to your intention of chakra balancing.

Take a few deep breaths working to center yourself. When you’re ready, start to reflect on how you are feeling. If you aren’t feeling safe or grounded, it’s okay. This is the important work we are doing today! Ask the universe to help you heal and let go of any feelings that are blocking your root from being balanced. To add a little extra punch to this request, light your Root Chakra Pillar. Hold it in your hand repeating one of the below affirmations, allowing the energy of your words to flow through your body into your candle.

- I Am Always Safe

- I Am Abundant

- The Universe Loves Me and I Love Being Here

- My Needs Are Always Met

- I Love My Body

- I Am Grounded

If you have an altar, you can set it up there to reflect on it. Focus on your request to the universe for balance, allowing any emotions you feel to rise. Do not judge, become the observer, taking note of whatever arises. Imagine the candle is filling you with the most beautiful red light you can imagine.

Now it’s time to check in with our intuition on how our root chakra is doing. Using your Orgone Color Resin Jasper Pendulum, holding it in your non-dominant hand, we will ask our bodies to show us what yes looks like. Your pendulum will make a movement to show you. Repeat this for no. Once you are clear on how the pendulum will move, you can move on to ask if your root chakra is balanced.

Do not judge the answer. Everyone always has one chakra or another imbalanced at any given point. This is NORMAL or we wouldn’t be wasting time on earth. This is our journey, after all, to balance ourselves and step into our greatest potential. We all have work to do so we shouldn’t judge ourselves or our process. We should just observe, remain curious and show ourselves compassion for even taking the time to check in with ourselves in an effort to grow.

After this, you can ask the pendulum to show you the chakra. You can lay on your back and hold the pendulum above your root to see. The pendulum will move along with your chakra. At this point, you can either move on to the next step or you can continue to ask as many more yes or no questions as you want. This is to be a discovery of your strengths as well as your blocks, all in an attempt to heal.

The final step in this exercise is to use the Orgone Color Jasper Resin Pyramid as a way to heal your root chakra. You can place the pyramid in the region of your root chakra and allow the crystal to work. You might feel your tummy grumbling or the energy shifting while the crystal is in place. Leave it there for 10 minutes or even until you feel ready to move on. Once you’re finished, you can place the pyramid on your altar by your candle.
