Dear readers, 2020 comes with the last three Eclipses on the Cancer-Capricorn axis. At the same time, as the Moon’s Nodes shift into Gemini and Sagittarius, a new series of eclipses is starting! Our journey to redefine the rules (Capricorn) and to connect to our emotions (Cancer) continues this year, while another one starts: a path to rethink our beliefs (Sagittarius) and to apply the knowledge that we’ve learned (Gemini). What will the 2020 eclipses bring us?

Lunar Eclipse in Cancer, January 10

This Lunar Eclipse is an opposition between the Moon in Cancer- our subconscious nurturing side, our emotions and intuition, and the Sun in Capricorn- our conscious efforts of disciplining ourselves to reach our goals. How are the two apparent extremes meeting halfway in our lives?

Since the Moon is close to the North Node in Cancer- our dharma, the energy that we have to manifest right now to grow- this Eclipse can reveal important information or bring significant events (moments of success, realization or reconsideration, moments that push us forward on our path) linked to family, home, emotions, nurturance, tradition or ancestors, especially if we have planets around the 20th degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn.

It might not be easy, as the sensitive Cancer Moon opposes a stellium of Capricorn planets: the Sun, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto. They are all focused on efficiency, performance and discipline, but in an increasingly transformative way as old (patriarchal) rules and structures give way to a more intuitive, receptive way of flowing with life. Trust your intuition at this time and be brave enough to be vulnerable, even if you’re facing pressure from within or without.

Lunar Eclipse in Sagittarius, June 5

The next eclipse is also a Lunar one, a Full Moon that pushes us to integrate our natural tendency to be curious, to learn information from all domains, to be a jack of all trades (Sun in Gemini) with our need to find higher meaning in what we’re learning and to define a worldview that helps us reach our goals (Moon in Sagittarius).

Since the Moon is close to the South Node in Sagittarius- our karma, the patterns that we have to integrate, but also to overcome- this Eclipse can reveal important information or bring significant events (moments of success, realization or reconsideration) that help us detach from past thoughts, beliefs, emotions that no longer serve us.

When we say Sagittarius, we’re talking about events linked to traveling, higher studies, courses, publishing, our spiritual path, our trust in life. What will be coming to fruition in these areas? What important transformations will be taking place? Through a nudge forward, this Eclipse can help us go beyond prejudice, self-righteousness or outdated and unrealistic ideals that we’ve been holding for ourselves, bringing us closer to our most authentic beliefs and visions for the future.

The other celestial actors involved in this Full Moon are Venus, Mars and Neptune, so this is likely to be a charged moment, especially in relationships; we’re challenged to speak our minds, to act upon our beliefs and to be assertive while also staying open and receptive to what others have to say. In anything that happens during this time, we’re called to avoid deception and manipulation, to focus on facts and concrete details if things are unclear (and they very well might be) and to act based on our beliefs and values. If you have planets around the 15th degree of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces, you’re likely to feel the effects of this Eclipse more intensely.

Solar Eclipse in Cancer, June 21

A powerful Solar Eclipse awaits us in June as the New Moon is just one degree away from the North Node. On the last Cancer eclipse of the season, this is a beginning in every way! The New Moon in the first degree of Cancer is the first step towards something different in our lives in the area of home, family, emotion, intuition, nurturance and tradition.

As a wrap-up of the events from the past two years, new roots are starting to grow, helping us feel more connected to our heritage, our emotions and our feminine wisdom. In such proximity to the Gemini North Node- our dharma, the energy that we have to incorporate right now in order to grow-, this Eclipse is likely to bring events that trigger a new way of thinking about family, home and emotions, especially for people who have planets close to the 1st degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn.

This is also a moment when we’ll be called to manifest both our nurturing, emotional side (Sun and Moon in Cancer) and our assertive, bolder side (Mars at the end of Pisces), finding a tender, yet direct kind of self-expression that harms neither us, nor others. The days around the Eclipse are likely to feel unclear and emotionally intense, so make sure you listen to your needs and take care of your inner child, setting intentions of nurturance and gentleness for the new cycle.

Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn, July 5

The last Capricorn Eclipse of the season faces us with results, peak moments and reconsiderations in our career and public image, prompting us once more to balance our nurturing and emotional side with a need to keep to ourselves and to diligently follow our goals. In proximity to the South Node- karma, patterns from the past- this Eclipse is a final step in the process of shedding the Capricorn shadow: a desire to control every aspect of our lives, a desire to obtain status with any price, fear of failure or ruthlessness.

Instead, we must balance our natural need for mastery, status and respect with openness towards our needs, setting healthy boundaries where they are due and following our inner knowing. Uranus sends a friendly trine to this Eclipse, supporting us with a little change in the structures and the habits that no longer work for us.

At the same time, a square with fiery Mars in Aries can heat up the atmosphere, bringing up unresolved anger and tension, especially linked to family, work, authority figures. Many retrograde planets in the sky, together with Saturn in the last degree of Capricorn, confirm the fact that there is a lot to reprocess and to leave behind at this moment in order to be ready for a new evolutionary phase in our lives.

It’s not easy, but what are you leaving behind to get closer to the best version of yourself? If you have planets around the 13th degree of Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn, you’re likely to feel the influence of this Eclipse stronger than the rest of us.

Lunar Eclipse in Gemini, November 30

In November we have another Lunar Eclipse, another peak moment when important information can be revealed to us and our efforts can show their results, this time when it comes to learning, communication, thinking, mental patterns.

A Gemini Full Moon can make us fidgety, curious, scattered, but it can also help us connect separate parts of ourselves into a whole through revealing missing info or stimulating a holistic view on things. This is what we’re prompted to do: find a balance between facts and beliefs, details and the bigger picture, study and experience, as the Gemini North Node- dharma, the direction in which we have to go right now- leads us towards more open-mindedness, flexibility and adaptability.

With Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, transiting through mysterious Scorpio, this Eclipse could reveal hidden information, prompting us to go beyond the mind and into the deep needs and emotions that often govern us. Those of us with planets close to the 8th degree of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces could feel this eclipse more intensely, either through inner changes in thought and emotion or through outer events (results, peak moments, reconsiderations) in the area that Gemini rules in their chart.

Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius, December 14

The final eclipse of the year is a Total Solar Eclipse in adventurous Sagittarius. The Sun and the Moon meet as Mercury conjuncts the South Node- karma, patterns from the past- in the same fiery sign. Once again, we have a new beginning that coincides with letting go of things that no longer serve us- perhaps an excessive attachment to our beliefs, self-righteousness, overlooking details or taking mindless risks. Instead, we’re being called towards clarity of purpose and of belief.

What is driving you forward? What vision motivates you to live, to laugh, to experience? Now is the time to set intentions that are bigger than life, while also keeping in mind that they need planning and perseverance to become reality. As Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius, conjuncts hard-working Saturn in the last degrees of Capricorn, he’s sending a last call for the effort, the determination and the grit that can support us in becoming our best self.

The Eclipse’s square to dreamy Neptune can cloud our vision, but it can also gift us with spiritual openness and heights of feeling and belief if we alchemize it. At the same time, Aries Mars sends a fiery trine that supports us to be bold when we’re chasing our dreams. This is a charged, exciting, yet also potentially tricky Eclipse that will be felt especially by those with planets around the 23rd degree of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces.
