When it comes to bringing good and positive energy to your home, Feng Shui is an expression that is often heard. So, what exactly is Feng Shui and how does it bring positive energy into your home?

What is Feng Shui?

In Chinese culture, everything is about life energy or chi and how to harness, distribute and reap benefits from it. In their culture, they started to believe that not only living beings possess life energy, but on the contrary, that life energy is everywhere around us, including our homes. And so, Feng Shui was born through that belief, that we as humans are dependent on life energy within and the life energy surrounding us. Feng Shui comes from this Chinese tradition and it has been known to exist more than 5000 years.

It’s an art and science that helps you, to organize any given space in a way that will attract positive life energy and let it flow freely. Because of their belief that human beings are directly connected to the space in which they live because of the surrounding life energy, they started to apply the art of Feng Shui to their homes in an effort to invite positive life energy.

After all your home is your sanctuary, your little magical space where no matter what happens in the world, you are safe. When your home is cluttered, filled with too many things, unclean it affects your mental wellbeing negatively. That’s because the flow of life energy is probably cut off or blocked.

Life energy is meant to flow freely, and when it doesn’t flow freely it gets cluttered up and polluted. To ensure your home’s life energy is flowing freely around you and within you, applying Feng Shui to it is an amazing way to accomplish just that.

By organizing your home better and letting the magical positive energy flow freely, your inner magical spark will not only awaken, but its flames will also warm your heart and soul. And Feng Shui is an awesome way to do it! Feng Shui itself in translation means “wind water” which are the two of the five natural elements.

The principle of the five elements is one of the two. In China the five elements: water, wind, fire, earth, metal, and wood represent a cycle that can be either positive or negative. The other principle is the principle of yin and yang. Bringing balance between those two energies (chi) is essential when it comes to leading a more fulfilling, balanced and positive lifestyle. With that in mind, it’s important to Feng Shui your home. Here are a few tips on how to feng shui any room:

How To Feng Shui Your Living Room?

If you want to bring some positive vibes and keep that life energy flowing, it’s important to start with your front door, the entryway, and the living room. Here are a few tips:

2. Now, let’s go to the front door. The front door is the most important door in your home and it should always be made of wood. Not only that, but it should open inward to a wide space. By doing so, you are welcoming positive energy into your home.

3. To invite good and positive Feng Shui energy to your house, your living room should always be giving off an inviting, friendly atmosphere. To do this you have to manage your space better. That means, your living room should have space to walk around, space for more people to sit in and also a place to display family photos because they are your support system.

4. Regarding your furniture: - The main sofa should always face towards the entry - You should avoid harsh angles. That means that a circular coffee table made out of wood might be your best choice. - Other sofas and chairs should be placed around the coffee table and sofa in a way that it won’t feel too crowded and it will be functional and easy to go around.

7. Across the images of nature and nature landscapes is the space of your room that you usually see first when you get out of bed. Make sure to set up some positive quotes to inspire and motivate you when you wake up.

8. If you are a fan of late-night tv series or you are working late you are probably bringing your laptop to the bedroom. Your laptop should always be closed once you finish with it so you can reduce the electromagnetic energy that can disturb the positive energy flow.

9. For all our fellow bookworms we have a really neat trick. Instead of organizing your books by size, you should instead organize them by color. Books organized by color signify order, balance, and purpose.
